NQ4Y Repeater Update

by on Dec.01, 2009, under Ham Radio

Site visit to 145.41/441.25/53.45 repeaters on 27 November 2009 – replaced defective jumper on 145.41 transmitter.

Power output measured and validated at coordinated level (110 watts)

Receiver sensitivity measured and validated at better than 0.25µV.  Observed that the repeater has very poor squelch action (popping, lack of suitable hysteresis.)

145.55 digipeater (NQ4Y-1) operating within normal specifications – (65 watts TX power)

441.25 repeater – replaced audio/squelch module.  Suspect an intermittent connection in the backplane.  More troubleshooting needed.
